Keepsake Funk

Headlights curve ahead and leave a trace to their glow
with loves songs gone doppler on the radio
cross a man in dull sorrows
keeps the ground with his eyes
callous from the sentiment passing by
but oh drama by light
the shadows cast of this man
you'd swear he's secret acting
a thespian.
Under street lamp here later
jagged fence an upturned saw
sex and violence confused
the alleycats call
Pillow feathers drifting away
in what the breeze and the curtain's lace play
clear as the sun's come and beacons the day
he can't love you
he can't stay

She Saw
02:20
|
|||
Stillborn by witness
the scenes she's seen
in her yard summer grass is so green
Hostage by idle to a surreal daydream
waters teaming so close
ocean sea
Hear a deluge is coming
you can run but ain't she
getting high as old bible tides be
Salty dog ain't no captain
no now who could it be
but her squid and her cuttlefishy
yea her squid and her cuttlefishy
yea her squid and her cuttlefishy
Always hands in her garden
all the dirt that she knows
and just brushes it off on her clothes
Deep breathing up the dust
and all what death for what may grow
near a manic squirrel's twitching his nose
yea a manic squirrel's twitching his nose
yea a manic squirrel's twitching his nose
Worms are vermin don't say ew
help you make that good ass stew
poppy ball ooze goopy goo
someday baby come and eat my shoe
you can have all my tattoo
yea some good dirt by me and you
but ain't no good if the blood ain't true
then ain't no wealth no dusk so blue
an unseen weight just crushed us two

Grand Solar Minimum, Man
02:33
|
|||
I've been around the block as such still treads here I stand
on a stage or basement floor and all the passage of land
in a room inside from sirens I heard the last breath of a man
naked hot up from slumber death behind the curtain.
I've seen a wood ladder turned to plasma all by Tesla Coil striking it
o yea a lightning bolt inside but more a rapture ignited us
a parlor trick electric
made the matter there flip
from what wood made up that ladder to a hot cosmic ripped
from it glowing in veins as our hearts were so reigned
shown but for a moment was the universe tamed?
Who's seen red bats of morning flying on as Crazy Jim played?
Who's an angel in becoming where her deathbed was made?
Ascension Ascension Ascension
Baby pop the spring with me
no fear all fluid tensions
Blood and sweat and flesh as fluid fearless spirits
witness left to mention
Ascension Ascension Ascension
Same old stones under sand sea or jungle but still standing
Back to dust, rock and ore
all's molten as all was before
(Picture taken of the 2nd largest Tesla Coil in the world transforming the wood of a ladder to plasma that I took in San Fransisco CA, 2006)

So Long as the Sun
02:48
|
|||
So long as the sun keeps turning round baby
and our lives are going on
there's another thing grown like a child
un-wombed to the world unbound around you
whispered the wind keeps its dandeloins gathered
ooo cool sleepy light of spring moon
all those yellow stars open to be as their giver of light
She was your girl
was your love
was your only one
now still as all things will remind you
stare at the sun for a scar by its fire for life
burn like the furnaces forged all man's steel
ooo Love is a crucible's flame
By a gentle man's bleeding arms shackled
will a beast be hers tamed?
